Perth artist’s portrait of Fiona Wood a hopeful for this year’s Archibald Prize 15 March 2023 A portrait of Perth’s world-renowned burns specialist Professor Fiona Wood will soon be on its way for consideration in the 2023 Archibald Prize exhibition, an annual art competition organised by the Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney. The artwork, titled Fiona on Skin, sees Professor Wood’s portrait engraved or ‘etched’ on to a large piece of cow leather stretched over a wooden frame, with acrylics used to paint her features. HSS extends a hand to Kimberley’s flood affected regions 08 February 2023 Our supply and warehouse teams have recently worked in partnership with the Disaster Management & Response Directorate and Environmental Health Directorate at Department of Health, to coordinate the delivery of nearly 3,500 bottles of hand sanitiser to WA flood affected communities. Only a few weeks ago, rural and remote communities in the Kimberley were hit hard with the worst flooding ever documented in the history of WA. Flood waters are not only dangerous from a safety perspective, but they can also contain many contaminants that can be harmful and lead to serious illness. Exposure to contaminated floodwater can cause things like infection, gastrointestinal illness and tetanus. Welcome to the Noongar season, Bunuru 01 February 2023 Today marks the first day ofBunuru(February to March) in the Noongar seasonal calendar. It’s the hottest time of the year with little to no rain and is recognised as the season of adolescence and our second summer. HSS Cadet Jasmine Unno is here to share some of her kaartdijin (knowledge) about this season and Noongar culture in thevideo. Sharing this kaartdijin is an important part of building Aboriginal cultural awareness at HSS to help create a culturally safe and inclusive environment that attracts Aboriginal people to our workforce. It also aligns with our Diversity and Inclusion Strategy which aims to create a workplace where all employees are seen, valued and respected.

Pride art installation unveiled 13 December 2022 Employees at each of our locations were encouraged to write a message of support on a coloured piece of paper in the shape of a butterfly. Butterflies symbolise life, endurance, change, and hope and the heart is the universal symbol of love. Hundreds of butterflies were collected and combined to form a unique and special piece of art.
