Information Communication Technology
Every day, health workers across Western Australia rely on technology supported by HSS to access patient information, communicate securely and deliver care. As the backbone of the WA health system’s environment, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) delivers and supports critical ICT services, including clinical and corporate applications, networks, infrastructure, cyber security, devices and user support.
Core functions include:
- Provide innovative, strategic advice to support WA Health efforts in working towards a digitally enabled health care system.
- Supports the delivery of more than 400 enterprise application services used across all hospital and healthcare sites to deliver health care, an extensive range of enabling technology services, data integration and data delivery used every day.
- Provide digital workspace support and software access, including service desk, field support and the coordination of service management and performance.
- Maintains and improves cyber security.
- Manages multiple application-hosting cloud platforms, connecting over 480 healthcare sites through a wide area network, maintaining networks and telephony within all metropolitan health care sites and keeping our systems secure and safe from unauthorised access by delivering contemporary security infrastructure services.
- Leads the operational planning, including end-to-end performance, demand and capability, governance and communications.
