02/08/2024

HSS has been delivering shared services to the WA health system under our robust 2022-24 Strategic Plan for the past three years. Guided by our vision of "Great services, valued partner, healthy Western Australians," our strategy provides a clear roadmap for achieving our purpose.

Central to our successes have been our five strategic themes:

  • Clarifying our role and service offering
  • Improving customer experience
  • Enhancing our business performance Investing in our people so they are supported and empowered to achieve their full potential
  • An increased focus on our environmental, social, and economic sustainability

Since 2022, we’ve made significant progress across these themes, improving workforce engagement and consistently meeting our Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets. These achievements validate and reinforce our Plan's effectiveness.

As we look ahead, the HSS Board and Executive team have decided to extend the current Strategic Plan to the end of 2026.

This decision is based on several factors:

  • Strong performance indicating the Plan’s effectiveness.
  • High support and engagement from customers and colleagues.
  • Alignment with the WA health system’s direction.
  • The Plan's flexibility to adapt to external changes and emerging risks.
  • Our continued focus on critical priorities like the HRMIS, Peel Health Campus, DMR/EMR, SHOC, and IGR projects.

Extending the Plan helps us maintain momentum and focus, as we continue delivering reliable, responsive, and sustainable services. We will review our progress through the Joornanginy Program, with updates as appropriate to address emerging risks and to stay on track.

This extension reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and alignment with the values embedded in our strategy, acknowledging our past (Kura), present (Yeye), and future (Boorda).

We look forward to continuing our journey together, supporting the health of all Western Australians.
