We are pleased to share the fantastic news that HSS were winners at the 2024 WA Health Excellence Awards on Thursday 7 November.

The deserving ePrescribing team were recognised for their brilliant work in the ‘Excellence in Safety and Quality’ category.

A first for public health in Australia, the successful state-wide roll out of ePrescribing at public hospitals has been well received by patients, providers, and pharmacists. Over 7,000 ‘script tokens’ are being issued weekly with a total of 315,000 issued to date.

HSS developed the ePrescribing application ‘in house’ and WA’s program is the first, and continues to be the only, example of such a program to be used in public hospitals around Australia.

HSS was also part of an all-Health Service Provider (HSP) win for ‘Excellence in Workplace Wellbeing and Culture’ with the Staff with Disability and Allies Network.

The Staff with Disability and Allies Network was established in 2022 to ensure people with disability are heard, recognised and included at work – with a focus on using lived experience to make positive change for the future. All HSPs are represented in this group.

We are also immensely proud of our teams who were named a finalist in the Excellence in Sustainability category.

HSS has made significant progress in integrating sustainability into its operations. Initiatives targeting plastic waste reduction, local sustainability support, sustainable disposal of medical equipment, and supply chain resilience reflect HSS' commitment to environmental responsibility.
