A big congratulations to our winners and finalists at the Institute of Public Administration Australia WA (IPAA WA) Awards today! HSS won three awards across the following categories:
HR Management Practitioner of the Year was awarded to Director Employee Services, Sharon Viles for her role in leading the HSS COVID-19 Rapid Recruitment function for the WA health system. Her unrelenting willingness to help with the ongoing COVID-19 response and impact of recruitment reforms has contributed to keeping Western Australians safe during the COVID-19 global pandemic and will continue to be felt long after.
IT Practitioner of the Year was awarded to Executive Director COVID-19, Ralph Bates for his instrumental role in leading an excellent team of people to deliver several ICT solutions for the state, including VaccinateWA, PHOCUS (contact tracing platform), SHQIRA (hotel quarantine management platform), ServiceWA and COVIDTestWA. Through his innovative approach to challenges and speed of implementing initiatives he has ensured that the WA health system and the broader WA public is supported through the COVID-19 pandemic by excellent contemporary technology solutions.
Best practice in collaboration across government for the ServiceWA app, in a joint effort alongside Department of the Premier and Cabinet of WA, Department of Finance, and WA Police Force.
Well done to Chief Procurement Officer, Mark Thompson for being nominated for Leader of the Year in State or Federal Government and our HealthNext Program which was nominated for Best Practice in Digital Transformation.
It’s great to see our people's excellence in the public sector recognised!
