HSS has been recognised for our ongoing contributions to public health at the Institute of Public Administration Australia WA (IPAA WA) annual Achievement Awards.

The WA Health Data Platform (WA HDP) received the Office of Digital Government Award for Best Practice in Digital Transformation, celebrating the team’s efforts to improve how data is used across WA Health and support better decision-making on the frontline. This initiative is helping to modernise the way data is managed and shared, providing a secure and scalable platform that benefits clinical care, research, and operational efficiency.

The WA Virtual Emergency Department (WAVED) was recognised for Best Practice in Innovation, highlighting its role in making healthcare more accessible for patients across Western Australia. WAVED allows patients to receive care virtually at home when appropriate, reducing the need for emergency department visits. In April 2025, the launch of the Virtual Care Connect (VCC) platform marked a major step forward, thanks to the collaborative work of the HSS and WAVED teams.

We’re also proud of the HSS Peel Health Campus Transition Project, which was a finalist for Best Practice in Collaboration across Government Agencies. HSS was further acknowledged as a partner in other finalists from the Digital Medical Record Program and the State Health Operations Centre (SHOC).

Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved. Much of what we do happens behind the scenes, but every effort at HSS helps deliver excellent healthcare to the people of Western Australia. It’s wonderful to see our teams in the spotlight.
