Award-winning VaccinateWA platform celebrates first birthday
Western Australia’s COVID-19 vaccine management platform, VaccinateWA, has recently celebrated its first lap around the sun.
The award-winning platform, which was developed by HSS in collaboration with the Department of Health, the Department of Premier and Cabinet and our vendor partners, has been integral to Western Australia’s vaccination rollout.
Since its launch a year ago on 22 February 2021, the platform has been used more than 2 million times by Western Australians to register, provide consent and book-in for their COVID-19 vaccinations.
VaccinateWA’s integration with the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) also meant the community could immediately access their proof of vaccination.
Through its smart and user-friendly interface, VaccinateWA has contributed to getting more than 98 per cent of Western Australians vaccinated against COVID-19, with third-dose vaccination rates continuing to rise significantly every day.
HSS Program Manager VaccinateWA, Sam Aly, said the team is continuously working to further improve and enhance the platform.
“We have continued to refine and update the platform as the vaccination directions have changed,” Sam said.
HSS’ Executive Director COVID-19, Ralph Bates said VaccinateWA was built to protect our community and encourages people to continue getting vaccinated as COVID-19 impacts WA.
“VaccinateWA has helped more than a million Western Australians access their COVID-19 vaccinations, and that number climbs every day,” Ralph said.
“As COVID-19 spreads throughout the WA community, getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is now more important than ever.”
“With state-run vaccination clinics available throughout Perth and regional Western Australia, VaccinateWA makes getting vaccinated convenient and easy.”
